What is Explorer Post 357?

Exploring is a division of the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life program. Law Enforcement Exploring is a work-site based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are 14 to 20 years of age.

In our part of North Carolina, the Occoneechee Council is the governing body that our Explorer Post works under.

At regular meetings, Durham Police Explorers learn directly from police officers the best techniques known for crime control and public safety. Through role play, they get to practice:
  • Arrest Protocol
  • Domestic Crisis Intervention
  • Searches
  • Vehicle Stops
  • Crowd Control
  • Traffic Direction
  • And much more!
Requirements to Participate:
  • Be 14-20 years of age
  • Have no criminal record
  • Have at least a 2.0 grade
    point average in school.
