Recruiting: Description of Physical Fitness Evaluation

This is a six-part, pass/fail test. You must complete each task in a satisfactory manner in order to pass and remain in the process. The test requirements are as follows:
  1. Cardiovascular (550 yard walk/run) - Applicant must run or walk 550 yards within three minutes.
  2. Cardiovascular (1.5 mile walk/run) - Applicant must run or walk 1.5 miles in 17 minutes.
  3. Strength (Bench Press) - Applicant bench presses the maximum amount he or she is capable of lifting.
  4. Upper Body Strength (Push-ups) - Applicant performs as many push-ups as possible in one minute.
  5. Muscular Endurance (Sit-ups) - Applicant performs as many sit-ups as possible in one minute. The minimum acceptable score is 12.
  6. Flexibility (Sit and Reach) - Applicant sits on the floor with legs extended at right angles and reaches forward with both hands as far as possible.
