Citizens Police Academy
The Citizens Police Academy, offered in English and Spanish, is the premiere program for any Durham resident wanting to know more about the operations of the Durham Police Department. The six week academy, which is free of charge, provides first-hand knowledge and front line experiences. Classes feature a ride-a-long with an officer on patrol, K-9 and DWI demonstrations, gang awareness and domestic violence information and even a driving simulator.
Class size is limited. Registration is processed on a first come, first served basis.
